The Mitigation Policy is a cornerstone for groundwater management within the North Kings GSA, outlining each of the member agencies’ commitments to mitigate for the groundwater pumping occurring within their respective service areas.  Ultimately this means the Policy determines the level to which each member agency will need to exercise groundwater-balancing measures, like increased groundwater recharge or more water recycling and conservation.

The policy workgroup included representatives from the member agencies and members of various stakeholder groups. The group worked through topics ranging from groundwater impact analyses to water accounting for recharge and pumping locations.
