North Kings GSA Prepares for Well Registration Portal Rollout for Landowners

The North Kings GSA Executive Officer, Kassy Chauhan, shared the agency’s timeline for launching its new Well Registration Portal. In the coming weeks, the GSA will begin rolling out its new Well Registration Portal, an effort to keep local control over groundwater sustainability efforts under the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). With landowner participation, well registration will help address data gaps as the agency completes a groundwater aquifer study required by the State.

The North Kings GSA will use data from well registration to support the long-term groundwater sustainability efforts by improving its understanding of groundwater flows. This is crucial for achieving sustainability targets and maintaining local control under SGMA. By participating in well registration, landowners are directly contributing to local efforts to balance the groundwater supply for the future.

The Well Registration Portal, created by Break9, has gone through internal and external beta testing in preparation for full launch in the coming weeks.

The portal will be accessible on North Kings GSA website homepage, along with a dedicated webpage about well registration. Well registration will include all landowners within the agency’s boundaries, including those in white areas. For more information landowners can contact the GSA at or by calling (559) 233-7161.
