Fresno Irrigation District secures $100,000 grant to support growers with flow meter installation costs

The Fresno Irrigation District (FID) received a $100,000 grant to assist landowners with installing flow meters on their wells.

Landowners who take advantage of this grant opportunity will gain access to real-time water usage data. This information empowers them to make informed, strategic decisions about their irrigation practices, ultimately helping to conserve water and improve efficiency on their land.

In the next few months, FID will establish a program and process to cover up to 50% of the total costs for growers to purchase and install meters on their wells. Funds will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Growers interested in receiving funding are encouraged to register their well with the North Kings GSA using the Well Registration Portal to streamline the funding process once it opens. FID Growers with questions can contact Executive Director Kassy Chauhan at (559) 233-7161 x 7109.
