New Groundwater Guides now available for domestic well owners and school facilities managers/operators

The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) impacts all beneficial users of groundwater, including domestic well owners and schools. The North Kings GSA is dedicated to engaging and providing helpful resources to these stakeholders throughout SGMA implementation.

Groundwater Guides are now available for download to assist domestic well owners and school facilities managers/water operators understand how they fit into sustainable groundwater management under SGMA.

The Domestic Well Owner Groundwater Guide includes a checklist to help well owners manage their well and plan ahead in light of current and projected groundwater conditions, as well as tips on how to tell their domestic well is vulnerable to going dry. Quick-Reference Groundwater Guides for domestic well owners have also been developed in Spanish and Hmong.

The School Facilities/Water Operations Groundwater Guide includes water conservation and landscaping tips, as well as a checklist to help school sites anticipate any issues that may arise with their well over the SGMA implementation timeline.
