Seat 4 – Director Matt Basgall

City of Clovis

Matt Basgall is a Councilmember for the City of Clovis. He was first elected to office in December 2022.

His past political experience includes Chairman, Fresno County Prosecutors’ Association PAC; President, Fresno County Young Republicans; Chairman, California State Student Association; Student Body President, California State University, Fresno.

Basgall’s career in law enforcement began with the Clovis Police Department. First as an Officer, he was promoted through the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and finally as Police Chief. He is a graduate of California State University, Stanislaus, and went on to graduate from the California Police Standards and Training Command College. He also received an Executive Leadership Certificate. 

Throughout his career, Matt Basgall has volunteered for numerous community organizations. He currently serves as the Chair of the Men’s Leadership Council for the Marjaree Mason Center. His long-standing service to Marjaree Mason began with his position on the board and later as Board Chair.
