Southeast Surface Water Treatment Facility
Project Overview
The Southeast Surface Water Treatment Facility was developed by the City of Fresno to treat and recycle surface water from the Kings River for residential and agricultural use. Once at the facility, the surface water is treated to meet or exceed drinking water standards, significantly reducing the use of local groundwater supplies. By treating surface water, the facility offsets roughly 82,240 acre-feet of groundwater pumping a year.
Project Highlights:
58-acre property
Receives surface water through the City’s 13.5-mile Kings River Pipeline
Offsets groundwater pumping by 82,240 acre-feet/year
Permitted to deliver 54 million gallons of water per day (mgd)
Capacity to treat up to 80 mgd in the future
