Wagner Recharge Basin

Project Overview

The Wagner Recharge Basin is one of many recharge projects constructed by the Fresno Irrigation District to support local sustainability efforts. Completed in 2022, this 60-acre recharge basin provides approximately 165 acre-feet of flood water storage and delivers an average recharge benefit of 2,300 acre-feet a year.

Projects like the Wagner Recharge Basin play a vital role in FID’s sustainability efforts by capturing surface water during wet years to increase groundwater supplies. By replenishing the groundwater aquifer, this basin strengthens the District’s ability to improve groundwater conditions and secure a reliable water supply for its users.
