Well Registration Gains Traction Following Adoption of Policy Requiring Participation  

Well registration is now underway, helping demonstrate our commitment to managing the groundwater sustainability process effectively. Since the well registration policy went into effect on May 1, 2025, the North Kings GSA has more than doubled the number of registered wells.

As part of this new phase of the well registration effort, North Kings GSA has established a support team, available for phone, video, and email support for well owners as they walk through registration.

The agency will continue to partner with local organizations and community members to bring awareness to the well registration requirement. All well owners have until November 30, 2025 to register wells before paying a $100 late fee per well goes into effect.

Understanding where wells are at within the GSA supports ongoing groundwater studies required by the state, which helps to the GSA manage groundwater both now and in the future.

Our community’s proactive leadership is the reason we are ahead of the State’s intervention measures when it comes to regulating groundwater. The North Kings GSA’s goal is to keep it that way.
