FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
All Fresno-Area Well Owners Invited to Public Workshop in Kerman for Help with Local Well Registration Requirement
The requirement applies to private/household and production well owners within the greater Kerman, Biola, Easton, Fresno, and Clovis areas.
FRESNO, CA — North Kings GSA will hold a public workshop on Wednesday, August 27th from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the Kerman Community Center to provide direct support for its well registration requirement. Well registration is required for all well owners — domestic, agricultural, and industrial — within North Kings GSA as of May 1, 2025. The registration deadline is November 30, 2025 to avoid a $100 late registration penalty fee per well.
By registering wells, the community can help keep decisions about how groundwater is managed in local hands, rather than in the hands of State regulators.
Well owners can attend the workshop anytime from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM to learn about the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) and why well registration is such an important piece for continued local groundwater management. Kassy Chauhan, North Kings GSA Executive Officer, will give a short presentation at the top of every hour and the agency’s support team will provide technical assistance on laptops throughout the workshop.
“We want to make this as easy as possible for folks. We are ready to answer questions, and we have a support team ready to help with technical assistance,” said Chauhan. “We will also have multilingual support available during the workshop for Spanish and Punjabi speakers thanks to our community partners.”
Well owners are encouraged to bring their laptops or tablets to complete well registration, but the North Kings GSA support team will have extras available when necessary.
